Today consumer advocacy organization CASE, Consumer Action for a Strong Economy, issued a statement offering its strong support for the proposed $26 billion merger between wireless carriers T-Mobile and Sprint, a union it believes will empower consumers with more choice in the marketplace, boost our nation’s economy, create jobs, and help secure America’s position as a global leader in digital and wireless technology. The statement was issued as the Senate Judiciary Committee initiates hearings regarding the proposal. Said CASE:
“For too long consumers have been under-served by a wireless marketplace dominated by two players, Verizon and AT&T. The proposed merger between T-Mobile and Sprint will create a true third national carrier with the bandwidth and resources to give consumers greater choice and lower prices through market competition. We further recognize that the marriage of T-Mobile and Sprint will spark a “race to 5G” among the major carriers, leading to more investment in our digital infrastructure, thousands of high-paying jobs, and greater empowerment for consumers to utilize the latest cutting-edge technology to seek opportunity, enhance their lifestyle, and realize their dreams. This is especially true in the vastly under-served rural portions of America, where millions wait patiently for the promise of high-speed wireless technology to reach them.
“On behalf of America’s consumers, for the creation of hundreds of thousands of new jobs, and for the benefits our nation will receive as the continued leader in global wireless technology, we urge Senators to join us in supporting this important merger proposal.”

.@POTUS’ IRA is driving up Part D premiums for millions of Medicare beneficiaries, yet Dems like @SenSanders continue to help tout this disastrous legislation. The Biden-Harris @WhiteHouse is misleading the public on their policy’s real impact.
Two weeks from election day, the supposedly independent @FCC is proposing price regulation of #broadband by restricting what data plans companies can offer.
By prohibiting usage-based plans, the FCC would end up increasing prices FOR EVERYONE, including low-data users!
