President Biden traveled to Philadelphia today to sell Americans on his budget proposal for the 2024 fiscal year. Gerard Scimeca, Chairman and Co-Founder of Consumer Action for a Strong Economy (CASE), issued the following statement calling out the President’s budget on its damaging implications for American healthcare.

“The President unveiled a devastatingly leftist budget proposal today that aggressively takes aim at our free-market healthcare system. The plan would expand on the worst aspects of the Inflation Reduction Act and add more medications to the list of drugs singled out for government price controls. These price controls destroy the incentives for investment into new medicines and treatments. Just look at Europe where similar policies are driving out investors and hampering research and development. President Biden is ignoring the facts and continuing to push government control and socialized medicine at all costs.

“This is a radical agenda disguised as a budget. Congress must act in the best interest of American patients and reject this horrendous plan.”
