(Arlington, Virginia) — This afternoon, Consumer Action for a Strong Economy (CASE), issued a statement praising the ITC for its unanimous decision rejecting Boeing’s specious trade complaint of injury filed against aerospace competitor Bombardier.
Said CASE President Matthew Kandrach, “This is an important decision, one that upholds the principles of free trade and free markets, so critical both to America’s prosperity and consumer choice.
“Production of these cutting-edge planes will mean 2,000 permanent jobs in Alabama, as well as more options for airlines and their passengers. We salute the ITC for an honest and thorough evaluation of the facts. This cutting-edge aircraft will increase competition in the overcrowded airline industry, creating welcomed and much-needed flight paths and increased passenger amenities. This is a victory for U.S. consumers, and travelers especially.”
